Austria remains stable in eighth place in European innovation ranking
Austria has successfully defended its position in the European Union's current "European Innovation Scoreboard" (EIS). As the new report shows, the country holds eighth place among EU member states, just as it did the previous year.
The "European Innovation Scoreboard" evaluates the innovation performance of individual countries on an annual basis. It examines various factors, such as investments in research and development, the quality of scientific work, and collaboration between companies and research institutions.
With its eighth-place ranking, Austria continues to belong to the group of "strong innovators." This classification shows that the country is well-positioned in many areas, even if there is still a gap compared to leading nations such as Denmark, Sweden, or Finland.
Experts emphasize that the continuous promotion of innovation is important to secure the long-term competitiveness of the Austrian economy. The stable ranking is a sign of the consistency of Austria as a research location, even if further efforts may be necessary in the future to rise even higher in the European comparison.
