US politician accuses former Prince Andrew of sexual crimes

US Congressman Thomas Massie has made serious allegations against former Duke of York Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, accusing him of committing sexual crimes in the United States in connection with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The Republican lawmaker is calling for those connected to Epstein to be held accountable and has demanded the release of three million additional documents related to the case. Andrew has strongly denied any wrongdoing connected to his relationship with Epstein.

Andrew had a close friendship with Epstein, the wealthy financier who died in a US prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. Epstein had been accused of operating a long-running abuse network involving underage girls and young women.

One of Epstein's victims, Virginia Giuffre, who has since died, accused Andrew of sexually abusing her multiple times, including when she was a minor. Andrew has consistently denied the allegations. Giuffre's civil lawsuit against him in the United States was ultimately resolved through a multimillion-dollar settlement.

Millions of documents connected to the Epstein investigation were released by the US Justice Department earlier this year. Andrew's name appeared repeatedly in the material, renewing scrutiny over his relationship with Epstein and intensifying pressure on the former royal.

Massie is now pushing for the release of another three million documents, arguing that further records could provide additional information about Epstein's network and the people associated with him. The demand comes as renewed attention focuses on individuals who may have been connected to the disgraced financier.

The continuing revelations have already had major consequences for Andrew. His royal duties were removed last year, and he was pushed out of public life. He has also left the Royal Lodge in Windsor and is now living at a farmhouse on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, away from the public spotlight.
