New Signature Drink: Austrian Airlines focuses on local ingredients
Austrian Airlines is expanding the culinary offerings on its long-haul flights. Effective immediately, passengers can enjoy a new signature drink called the "Austrian Dirndl." The beverage is intended to bring a piece of Austrian identity directly to the passengers' seats.
The main ingredient of the cocktail is organic cornelian cherries (Dirndln) sourced from the greater Vienna area. The Dirndl, also known as the cornel cherry, is a traditional fruit that grows particularly well in Lower Austria and the surrounding region of Vienna. By using regional products, the airline aims to support local agriculture.
With this innovation, Austrian Airlines hopes to enhance the travel experience for international guests and Austrians alike. The introduction of the drink is part of a strategy in which the airline is increasingly focusing on Austrian specialties and quality to distinguish itself from other carriers.
The new drink is now available on all of the airline's long-haul flights. Passengers can order the beverage through the onboard service and thus experience a flavorful connection to the airline's home.
