Future of Travel: Sustainable Tourism Summit Planned in Austria
Austria is preparing for a major event in the tourism industry. The third "Sustainable Tourism in Austria Summit" (STiAS) will take place on November 10 and 11, 2026. This meeting is a central hub for all professionals who want to actively shape the future of travel in Austria.
The motto of the upcoming conference is "The WHY behind Sustainability." The organizers are not just concerned with technical solutions or new laws. The focus is on the question of the motivation behind eco-friendly actions and why it is so important for society.
For Austria, this topic is of great importance, as tourism is a significant part of the national economy. The Alps, clear lakes, and untouched nature attract millions of guests from all over the world every year. To protect these landscapes in the long term, hotels, ski resorts, and transport companies must become more sustainable.
During the two-day summit, experts from various fields will come together. They will discuss innovative strategies to reduce the industry's ecological footprint. The goal is to position Austria internationally as a pioneer for green and responsible tourism.
STiAS 2026 highlights that sustainability is not a short-term trend but a long-term necessity for the country. By exchanging knowledge and new ideas, the industry aims to ensure that future generations can still experience the beauty of Austria's nature.
