Inflation falls due to energy prices & more
Austrian households can expect lower inflation in June. The development of energy prices in particular is providing relief for monthly costs.
General inflation is currently being slowed by significantly lower price increases for electricity and gas. According to the current flash estimate (a preliminary calculation by Statistics Austria), energy prices rose by 5.4 percent in June. In May, the increase had been 9.8 percent. Since energy costs make up a significant part of the cost of living, the slower price increase means a stabilization of expenses for private households.
