Austria remains among the top 10 most innovative EU countries
Austria has successfully defended its eighth place in the European Union's "European Innovation Scoreboard" (EIS). This is shown in the latest report, which compares the innovative strength of EU member states. As in the previous year, Austria continues to be part of the leading group of European countries.
The innovation ranking evaluates various factors that are important for economic development. These include, for example, investments in research and development, the quality of the education system, and the number of patents. Austria scores particularly well due to close cooperation between science and industry.
With its eighth-place ranking, Austria is significantly above the European Union average. The country is listed in the category of "Strong Innovators." While Austria is very successful, it does not yet belong to the top group of "Innovation Leaders," which includes countries like Denmark or Sweden.
Experts view the result positively, as Austria was able to maintain a stable position in a difficult economic environment. For the future, the goal remains to further close the gap to the absolute top. This requires continuous investment in new technologies and digital education.
