Spotify introduces cheaper 'Basic' subscriptions in Belgium
Good news for music lovers in Belgium who want to save on their monthly costs. The streaming service Spotify is introducing a new subscription type called 'Basic'. This allows users to enjoy music and podcasts at a lower price than the well-known Premium subscription.
The price difference between the various packages is significant. For instance, the 'Premium Duo' subscription will now be 5 euros per month cheaper compared to the standard rates. There is also a financial benefit for families: the difference between the 'Basic Family' subscription and the regular 'Premium Family' subscription amounts to as much as 6 euros per month.
With this change, Spotify aims to meet the demand from users for more flexible and affordable options. The Basic formula offers access to the streaming service's entire music library, but includes fewer extras than the comprehensive Premium package. It is a strategic choice by the company to compete in the Belgian market.
The new prices are being implemented starting now for both new and existing customers who wish to switch. Users who want to lower their monthly expenses can easily adjust their subscription via the settings in the Spotify app or on the website. It is a welcome change for many Belgian consumers at a time when digital services are becoming increasingly expensive.
