Belgian B-FAST field hospital receives official recognition from the World Health Organization
The Belgian field hospital, which is part of the B-FAST aid structure, has received significant international recognition. The World Health Organization (WHO) has officially certified the hospital. This recognition means that the Belgian team meets the highest international standards for emergency medical assistance during disasters and crises abroad.
The B-FAST hospital is equipped with modern facilities that are essential for life-saving care. For instance, the field hospital has its own pharmacy, a trauma unit for emergencies, and a special department for pediatrics, or care for children. In addition, there is a delivery ward present to enable safe births in emergency situations.
In addition to basic care, the hospital is also equipped with advanced radiological equipment. This allows medical teams on-site to quickly take X-rays and make diagnoses. Thanks to this comprehensive equipment, the team can respond quickly and efficiently to complex medical challenges in disaster areas all over the world.
With this official recognition from the WHO, Belgium strengthens its position as a reliable partner in international humanitarian aid. The B-FAST team remains ready to be deployed quickly to major natural disasters or conflicts and to provide professional medical assistance to the local population.
