EuroBasket U20: The young Belgian Cats will play for the bronze medal
The Belgian national women's under-20 basketball team, nicknamed the "Belgian Cats," experienced an intense moment this weekend during the European Championship. The young players faced Israel in the semi-finals of the competition. Despite great energy on the court, they did not manage to qualify for the tournament's grand final.
The match was particularly difficult for the Belgians from the start. At halftime, the score was already 43-25 in favor of the Israeli team. The Belgian players showed a lot of courage in the second half trying to close the gap, but the match ultimately ended with a score of 78-69.
Nevertheless, this run remains very positive for Belgian basketball. Reaching the final four of a European competition is proof of the talent and hard work of this new generation. Supporters are proud to see that the next generation of Belgian Cats is ready to shine on the international stage in the years to come.
The adventure does not end completely for the Belgian players. They still have an important match to play for third place in the championship. They will attempt to secure the bronze medal to finish this tournament on a high note and bring a trophy back to Belgium.
