Vlaams Belang invites French politician Jordan Bardella to the Flemish Parliament
The chairman of the Flemish party Vlaams Belang, Tom Van Grieken, has announced that he intends to invite Jordan Bardella to a meeting at the Flemish Parliament. Bardella is the president of the French party Rassemblement National (RN), the party led by Marine Le Pen.
With this invitation, Vlaams Belang aims to strengthen ties with the French party. According to Van Grieken, the success of the French party serves as an example for his own. He hopes that Vlaams Belang can achieve similar results in future elections in Belgium.
The arrival of the French politician is causing significant debate in Belgian politics. Other political parties have reacted critically to the invitation. They are concerned about the ideology of the French party and its influence on the political discourse in our country.
The Flemish Parliament is an official institution where decisions are made for the Flanders region. Inviting foreign politicians to a party meeting at this location is unusual and has therefore led to questions regarding the rules and neutrality of the parliament.
It is not yet known exactly when Jordan Bardella's visit will take place. In the coming period, it will become clear how the Flemish Parliament handles this request and what consequences this will have for political relations in Belgium.
