Basketball: Ostend moves closer to a 15th consecutive title
The Ostend basketball team took a major step toward the Belgian championship title this Monday. In the third game of the BNXT League playoff finals, Ostend triumphed over Antwerp. Thanks to this important away victory, the club is now just one win away from another national trophy.
The match was marked by numerous twists and intense suspense until the final minutes. Both teams showed a high level of play, but it was ultimately Ostend that gained the upper hand with a final score of 76-81. This encounter once again proved the mental toughness of the Ostend players in crucial moments.
If the club wins its next match, it will be its fifteenth consecutive championship title. This historical dominance is exceptional in Belgian sports. For over ten years, Ostend has remained the team to beat, showing impressive consistency despite competition from other clubs in the country.
The pressure is now on the Antwerp team, which no longer has any room for error. To still hope for the title, the Antwerp players must win the next game. For its part, Ostend hopes to conclude this final quickly to celebrate this new historic crowning with its supporters.
