The 2026 World Cup: Everything you need to know about the tournament
In less than two years, the next FIFA World Cup will be upon us. The 2026 tournament officially begins on Thursday, June 11, 2026. The opening match will take place in Mexico City, the capital of Mexico.
This World Cup is unique because it is being hosted by three different countries: the United States, Canada, and Mexico. For Belgian fans, this means they will need to account for long distances and different time zones when following the Red Devils' matches.
The final of the tournament is scheduled for July 19, 2026. This decisive match will be played at MetLife Stadium in New York. It is the highlight of a tournament that will last for more than a month in total.
While preparations in the host countries are in full swing, Belgian supporters are also looking forward to the qualifiers and the final selection of the Red Devils. In the coming months, more will become clear regarding the match schedules and the locations where the Belgian team will be staying.
