40°C expected this Saturday & festival cancelled
Belgium is preparing to face extreme heat this Saturday with temperatures potentially reaching 40°C, before the arrival of thunderstorms. This exceptional heatwave is already leading to the cancellation of major events and reinforced security measures.
You should prepare for a scorching Saturday with the mercury rising to 39°C or 40°C in several regions of the country. The heat will persist until the arrival of thunderstorms expected at the end of the day, which will bring a drop in temperatures. If you are looking for cooler air, note that temperatures will remain significantly lower at the coast.
Due to these weather risks, the Defqon.1 festival has been cancelled mid-event. The organizers decided to halt the largest electronic music festival of its kind to protect participants from the dangers associated with extreme heat.
