Namur: A major exhibition to learn how to live without waste
The city of Namur is preparing to host an important ecological event. On June 21, 2026, the "My Zero Waste Home" exhibition will open its doors for its very first edition. This event aims to help citizens reduce their waste in a concrete and fun way.
One of the most anticipated moments of the day will be the giant "repair café." Several collectives from the region will come together to offer eight different repair stations. Visitors can bring their broken items to try and repair them instead of throwing them away, thus promoting the circular economy and the fight against waste.
The program is rich and varied to attract a wide audience. In addition to repairs, participants can enjoy free workshops to learn how to make their own products. A giveaway event will also be organized, allowing people to exchange items for free and give them a second life within the community.
The event is also intended to be family-oriented and accessible to children. A treasure hunt will be organized to raise awareness among the youngest about environmental protection while having fun. The City of Namur, which unveiled the full program this Thursday, June 11, hopes that this initiative will encourage more sustainable habits among residents.
This exhibition represents an important step for the region's ecological transition. By offering practical, free, and friendly solutions, Namur wishes to show that a "zero waste" lifestyle is within everyone's reach and beneficial for the future of the planet.
