World-famous equestrian venue Aachen to undergo major renovation
The iconic equestrian venue in Aachen, known as the 'Aachen Soers', will soon undergo a major transformation. The site will receive a complete upgrade with a price tag of 48 million euros. This project is intended to ensure that the venue remains among the world's best for international riders and horse enthusiasts in the future.
A significant portion of the funding is coming from the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The government has pledged a subsidy of 28 million euros to support the plans. The remainder of the amount will be contributed by other partners and investors.
For many Belgian equestrian fans, Aachen is a familiar place. Because the venue is located just across the Belgian border, thousands of Belgians travel to Germany every year to visit the prestigious competitions. The renovations will significantly improve the experience for these visitors.
The plans for the upgrade focus on modernizing the infrastructure and improving the facilities on the grounds. The goal is to elevate safety and comfort for both the horses and the public to a higher level. The work is intended to strengthen Aachen's position as one of the most important venues in the equestrian world.
The organization is looking forward to the start of the renovations. With this investment, the future of the Aachen Soers is secured for the coming years, which is good news for the international sports community and the many fans from the region.
