FPS Public Health launches new campaign for better healthcare communication
The Federal Public Service (FPS) Public Health has launched a new national campaign titled 'Tell me…' ('Vertel me eens…'). The initiative is intended to improve communication between citizens and healthcare providers in Belgium. According to the organization, an open conversation is the foundation for quality care.
The campaign focuses on both patients and doctors and nurses. The central idea is that good care is only possible when both parties understand each other well. By asking the right questions, patients can be better informed about prevention and their own health journey.
In practice, the FPS encourages citizens to participate more actively in their medical consultations. Asking questions about medication, treatments, or preventive advice helps to prevent misunderstandings. Healthcare providers, in turn, are encouraged to take the time for a clear and understandable conversation with the patient.
With this campaign, the government wants to lower the threshold for asking important medical questions. The project emphasizes that a good relationship between healthcare provider and patient is essential for the success of a treatment. The campaign will be visible over the coming months through various information channels throughout Belgium.
