Anthony Gordon joins FC Barcelona for 80 million euros
It's official: English winger Anthony Gordon is leaving Newcastle United to join FC Barcelona. Both clubs confirmed the news this Friday, marking one of the most significant transfers of this summer window. The 25-year-old is set to begin a new chapter of his career in Spain.
The total amount of the transaction is estimated at around 80 million euros. According to information shared by several sports media outlets, the Spanish club will pay 70 million euros immediately, with an additional 10 million euros in bonuses. Gordon has agreed to a five-year contract, demonstrating the Catalan club's confidence in his talent.
Anthony Gordon is known for his speed and technique on the pitch. After showcasing his qualities in the English league, he arrives in Barcelona to strengthen the team's attack. This recruitment is strategic for the "Blaugrana," who aim to become dominant on the European stage once again next season.
For Newcastle, Gordon's departure is a significant sporting loss, as he was a key member of their squad. However, this sale represents an excellent financial operation. The English club will be able to use this money to invest in new players and continue progressing in the Premier League.
FC Barcelona fans are now eagerly waiting to see their new signing at the stadium. Anthony Gordon is expected to join his new teammates very soon to participate in summer training and adapt to the Spanish style of play before the official start of the competition.
