Olivier Philippaerts performs strongly during international show jumping competition in Valkenswaard
Belgian rider Olivier Philippaerts made his mark last weekend during the prestigious GCL Individual Competition in Valkenswaard, the Netherlands. In this challenging competition with obstacles set at 1.60 meters, the Belgian demonstrated that he belongs among the world's elite.
Philippaerts rode a very fast round, clocking a time of 66.88 seconds. Although he was one of the fastest riders in the field, unfortunately, one rail fell. Due to this jumping fault, he did not finish on the podium, but his fast time ensured he delivered the best Belgian performance of the day.
The GCL competitions in Valkenswaard attract the world's best riders and horses every year. The course is always built to be highly technical by the organizers, which means that riders not only need speed but must also demand extreme concentration and precision from their horses.
For Olivier Philippaerts, this result is a confirmation of his current form. The rider continues to focus on upcoming international competitions, where he hopes to combine his clear rounds with his high base speed to secure more prizes.
