Young Cats eliminated in European Basketball Championship quarterfinals
The Belgian women's under-18 basketball team, the Young Cats, has been eliminated in the quarterfinals of the European Championship. The team lost a thrilling match against Serbia with a final score of 68-76.
The game started very positively for the Belgian team. Halfway through the match, the Young Cats were still firmly in the lead with a 33-23 advantage. The team played with great energy in the first half and seemed to be on their way to a spot in the semifinals.
After the break, however, the momentum shifted completely. Serbia came out of the locker room stronger and managed to close the gap in the second half. The Belgian players were unable to hold onto their lead against the physical strength of their Serbian opponents.
Despite this loss, the tournament is not yet over for the Young Cats. The team will now participate in the classification matches. In these duels, they will compete for fifth to eighth place in the final standings of the European Championship.
