Leadership Change at Nubank: New CFO Joins from Visa to Replace Guilherme Lago
Nubank, one of the world's largest digital banks, recently announced a major change in its financial leadership. Guilherme Lago, who served as CFO (Chief Financial Officer) for over five years, is leaving the company. Taking his place is Rob Livingstone, an experienced executive who brings relevant international background to the institution.
Guilherme Lago played a fundamental role in Nubank's growth over the last five and a half years. Under his financial management, the bank went through crucial phases of expansion and consolidation in both the Brazilian and international markets. Now, Lago has decided to step down to pursue a new professional path and focus on his own entrepreneurial projects.
The new CFO, Rob Livingstone, has a solid career in the payments sector. Before accepting the invitation from Nubank, Livingstone served as CFO for North America at Visa, one of the world's largest payment technology companies. His experience in such a competitive market is seen as a differentiator for the digital bank's next steps.
The leadership transition occurs at a time when Nubank is looking to expand its services and increase profitability. The choice of an executive from a global giant like Visa suggests that the bank intends to continue investing in innovation and operational efficiency, maintaining the trust of investors and customers around the world.
With this change, Nubank reaffirms its ability to attract global-level talent to its executive team. While Guilherme Lago begins his new journey as an entrepreneur, Rob Livingstone will have the challenge of leading the finances of one of Latin America's most valuable fintechs, ensuring the continuity of the brand's sustainable growth.
