Investors maintain risk exposure despite global tensions, says BlackRock
Even amid market concerns about global geopolitics, many investors continue putting money into higher-risk assets. According to BlackRock, one of the world’s largest asset managers, this is happening because taking an overly defensive position can also bring significant losses or costs.
The assessment was presented by Francisco in a statement published on May 6, 2026, by Brazil Journal. The central idea is that, in the current environment, staying away from riskier investments can mean missing return opportunities.
In recent years, international conflicts, trade disputes, and political uncertainty have increased market caution. Even so, some investors continue seeking risk because options considered safer do not always offer enough return to offset inflation, interest rates, and other economic pressures.
According to BlackRock, this behavior shows how investors are trying to balance protection and profitability. Instead of avoiding risk entirely, many prefer to accept some volatility in an effort to achieve better results.
The analysis indicates that the global environment remains challenging, but it also shows that investors’ strategy is being guided by the cost of being excessively conservative. Thus, even with uncertainties in the international landscape, risk appetite still remains in part of the market.
