Solidarity and reading: family donates hundreds of books to social project
Felipe Alhante was bothered by the number of unused books he had at home. Many works were just gathering dust on the shelves. At the suggestion of his father, Henrique, he decided it was time to find new owners for this collection and transform other people's lives through reading.
The family decided to donate the books to "Oficina," an initiative created by Cecilia Carvalho that offers classes and educational support. Upon receiving the donation, Cecilia highlighted the importance of the gesture. According to her, the visitors arrived with a trunk full of books and hearts full of generosity to help the project.
Felipe and Henrique's motivation was simple: the desire to share knowledge. Instead of keeping the material stored away, they preferred to ensure that students and community members had free access to various titles. The action reinforces the idea that books must circulate to fulfill their educational role.
Initiatives like this are fundamental to strengthening social projects that often operate with few resources. Now, the hundreds of donated books will have a new use in the hands of new readers. The Alhante family's example shows how personal organization can be transformed into a great benefit for society.
