Novonor-led consortium wins Rota dos Sertões highway auction
A consortium formed by Nova Infra Invest (a Novonor company), investment manager Galapagos Capital, and Portuguese construction firm Mota-Engil recently won the auction for the Rota dos Sertões highway. The outcome of the bidding process marks an important moment for the infrastructure and logistics sector in Brazil.
The auction victory grants the group the right to manage and carry out improvements on the highway for a set period. This project is considered essential for facilitating freight transport and the movement of people in the region, promoting local economic development through new investments in safety and asphalt maintenance.
For Novonor, formerly known as Odebrecht, this contract signals a strategic return to the public concessions market. The company seeks to rebuild its presence in major national projects, demonstrating the technical and financial capacity to compete once again in large-scale auctions promoted by the government.
The partnership between the three companies combines different specialties to ensure the success of the operation. While Mota-Engil brings its vast international experience in civil construction, Galapagos Capital offers the necessary financial support for the planned investments. The union of these groups strengthens the execution of the planned works for the highway.
In addition to Rota dos Sertões, Novonor has already indicated that it intends to participate in new infrastructure auctions in the near future. This movement is expected to increase competitiveness in the sector, which could result in higher quality services for drivers and faster growth for the Brazilian economy.
