Bulgaria as a model for security at the external borders of the European Union
Minister of Interior Ivan Demerdzhiev presented the results achieved in protecting Bulgaria's borders to the European agency Frontex. According to him, the measures our country is implementing are extremely effective and can serve as an example for the other member states of the European Union.
During the meeting, the challenges related to migration pressure at the external borders of the Community were discussed. The Bulgarian side emphasized that investments in technical equipment and the increased presence of border officers are key to curbing illegal border crossings.
Minister Demerdzhiev noted that Bulgaria is making serious efforts to comply with European security standards. He added that good cooperation with European institutions is crucial for addressing common challenges in the region.
