Bulgaria modernizes its air defense with seven new 3D radars
The Council of Ministers of Bulgaria has taken an important step toward the modernization of the army by proposing for ratification a contract for the acquisition of seven new 3D radars. This decision is part of the country's long-term strategy to improve national security and the defensive capabilities of the armed forces.
The new equipment will replace the outdated systems currently in use. Thanks to modern technology, the new radars will provide much more precise and reliable surveillance of Bulgarian airspace. This is of key importance for the early detection of objects and ensuring the safety of the country.
Investing in these systems will allow the Bulgarian army to work in better coordination with its NATO allies. Modern 3D radars provide detailed information on the altitude, speed, and direction of aerial objects, which is a security standard in modern conditions.
It is expected that after the ratification of the contract in the National Assembly, the process of delivery and installation of the equipment will begin as soon as possible. With this step, Bulgaria confirms its commitment to the technological renewal of its defense structures and the increase of the operational readiness of the air force.
