Bulgarian MEPs call on the EU to intervene in North Macedonia over a medical treatment case
Bulgarian representatives in the European Parliament have sent an urgent joint appeal to European institutions. The reason is a serious case related to the violation of human rights and the principles of the rule of law in North Macedonia.
At the center of attention is the case of a Bulgarian citizen who holds dual citizenship. According to the information, the individual encountered serious difficulties in receiving necessary medical treatment, which has led to tension between the two countries.
The MEPs emphasize that such actions are contrary to European values and standards for the protection of citizens. They insist that the European Commission investigate the case in detail and take the necessary measures to ensure the observance of fundamental human rights.
This incident is the latest in a series of diplomatic disputes between Sofia and Skopje. The Bulgarian representatives in Brussels state that they will not allow the rights of people with Bulgarian self-awareness in the neighboring country to be neglected.
