Qatar Airways suspends its flights to Sofia
One of the largest airlines in the world, Qatar Airways, has made the decision to exit the Bulgarian market. The carrier has officially announced that it is terminating direct flights on the Sofia–Doha route, which cuts off an important air link between Bulgaria and the Middle East.
Along with the suspension of flights, the company is also closing its office in the Bulgarian capital. This news has surprised many passengers and business partners, as the route was key for travel to Asia, Australia, and other destinations served by the airport in Doha.
At this time, the airline has not specified concrete reasons for its decision. It is expected that all administrative procedures for exiting the market will be finalized in the coming weeks, and passengers who have already purchased tickets for future dates will be informed about refund options.
