Interior Minister admits to lapses in operation against signal jammers in Dragalevtsi

Minister of Interior Ivan Demerdzhiev made an official comment regarding the unsuccessful operation to uncover illegal signal jammers in the capital's Dragalevtsi neighborhood. According to him, serious organizational errors were made during the execution of the operation, which prevented the authorities from achieving the desired result.

The main problem pointed out by the minister is the lack of police presence during the inspection. Officials from the Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) went to the address alone, without requesting assistance from law enforcement. This allowed the perpetrators to prepare and remove the devices before the authorities were able to seize them.

Ivan Demerdzhiev emphasized that such operations require close cooperation between the various institutions. When inspections are carried out in places where the presence of illegal equipment is suspected, police presence is mandatory to ensure security and prevent the concealment of evidence.

An internal investigation is currently underway to determine why the necessary coordination between the CRC and the Ministry of Interior was not ensured. The minister assured that the institutions would analyze the case to prevent such lapses in the future and to increase the effectiveness of the fight against illegal signals and devices.

The case has sparked widespread public interest, as the use of jammers is a serious violation that can interfere with the operation of important communication systems. Additional measures to strengthen control in the area are expected to be taken in the coming days.
