Bulgaria celebrates Independence Day with a festive program
On September 22, Bulgaria celebrates one of its most significant holidays – Independence Day. On this date in 1908, the act was proclaimed by which our country rejected its vassal dependence on the Ottoman Empire and declared itself an equal state on the international stage.
In honor of the holiday, the Bulgarian National Television (BNT) is preparing a special edition of the program "Independent Bulgaria." The program is dedicated to the historical significance of the event and its influence on the modern face of our country.
Distinguished historians, public figures, and artists will be guests in the media's studio. They will discuss important moments in Bulgarian history and share their thoughts on the meaning of freedom and national dignity in modern times.
Viewers will have the opportunity to learn more about the events of 1908 and the people who made the bold decision to declare independence. The program aims to remind all Bulgarians how important it is to know and value our past.
This festive edition is part of a series of events being organized across the country on the occasion of the official holiday. BNT invites all citizens to join the celebrations and mark this important day for Bulgarian statehood together.
