German giant Rheinmetall plans ammunition production in Bulgaria
The German defense technology company Rheinmetall is showing serious interest in establishing production facilities in Bulgaria. The news was confirmed by the German ambassador to the country, Irene Plank, who indicated that the project is entirely feasible, provided that certain conditions are met.
According to the information, the company plans to produce ammunition that is of key importance to the modern defense industry. For this investment to be realized, however, "certain modifications" to the existing infrastructure or regulatory framework will be necessary to meet the high standards of the German manufacturer.
This potential cooperation is seen as an important step toward strengthening Bulgaria's defense capabilities and deepening economic ties with Germany. Rheinmetall is one of the largest manufacturers of military equipment in Europe, and their presence in the country would bring new technologies and jobs.
Currently, talks are underway between representatives of the company and Bulgarian institutions to clarify the details surrounding the future production. It is expected that in the coming months it will become clear exactly when the project's implementation can begin and what specific changes will be necessary for its success.
