Ombudsman demands compensation for thousands of households in Sofia without hot water
Thousands of households in Sofia are facing serious difficulties due to prolonged hot water outages. Consumers in the capital are left without the service for periods that significantly exceed the legally defined 48-hour deadline for repairing breakdowns.
In connection with the problem, the Ombudsman of the Republic of Bulgaria has intervened actively, insisting on adequate compensation for the affected citizens. According to the institution, the long periods without hot water violate consumer rights and require immediate measures on the part of "Toplofikatsiya Sofia".
The Ombudsman's office emphasizes that the company is obliged to comply with quality standards for the services provided. When these standards are not met, citizens have the right to financial compensation, which should be reflected in their upcoming monthly bills.
At the moment, an official response is expected from the energy company regarding the reasons for the frequent breakdowns and plans for their permanent resolution. In the meantime, the affected residents of Sofia are advised to file complaints in order to protect their interests and receive the compensation they are entitled to.
