Sofia celebrates its holiday with a series of festive events
Today, the city of Sofia celebrates its official holiday. By tradition, the day began with a solemn water blessing in front of the Saint Sofia Basilica, attended by representatives of local government and many citizens. The holiday is an occasion to honor the city's history and its spiritual traditions.
As part of the official program, a solemn session of the Sofia Municipal Council was held. During the event, honorary awards were presented to distinguished individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of culture, science, and public life in the capital.
Throughout the day, numerous cultural initiatives have been organized across the city. Residents and guests of Sofia can visit free exhibitions, outdoor concerts, and themed city tours. The program aims to showcase the city's rich historical heritage and create a festive mood for all ages.
The municipality has also planned special events for children, including creative workshops and theatrical performances in the parks. Security measures in the city center have been increased to ensure the peaceful conduct of all scheduled events.
Sofia's holiday is a time of unity and pride for all residents of the capital. The organizers invite citizens to actively participate in the events and share in the festive atmosphere, which will continue until the late hours of the day.
