Bulgaria aims for technology leadership by 2030
Minister of Innovation and Growth Ivan Vasilev presented an ambitious plan that aims to turn Bulgaria into a key destination for high-tech business and digital services in Europe. The strategy is focused on developing innovation and attracting significant investment to the country over the next six years.
The main focus of the initiative is creating a suitable environment for the development of startups and technology hubs. According to the minister, Bulgaria possesses the necessary potential and qualified personnel to compete successfully on the international market. Plans include the modernization of infrastructure and support for scientific research.
The program also envisions closer cooperation between state institutions, universities, and the private sector. The goal is for young professionals to remain in the country and work on high-value-added projects instead of seeking opportunities abroad.
If the plan is successfully implemented, Bulgaria is expected to take a leading position in the region regarding the digitalization of the economy. This would lead to the creation of new jobs and significant economic growth by 2030.
