“Yes, Bulgaria” proposes the creation of a new cybersecurity agency
The political party “Yes, Bulgaria” has issued an official proposal for the creation of a specialized state agency to be responsible for the country's cybersecurity. According to party representatives, the current situation requires better organization and centralization of efforts to protect the digital space.
The main goal of the proposed institution is to consolidate all available cyber defense resources in one place. Currently, these activities are scattered across various government departments, which, according to experts, hinders rapid response to potential threats or hacker attacks against Bulgaria's critical infrastructure.
The initiative comes against the backdrop of increasingly frequent cyberattacks globally, which affect both state institutions and the private sector. The creation of a single body would allow for more effective monitoring, risk analysis, and coordination between the various security services in the country.
The proposal is set to be discussed within the framework of political debates. The idea is expected to spark a discussion on how best to protect the personal data of Bulgarian citizens and the security of state information systems in the digital age.
