Bulgaria expands its network of innovative schools
In the upcoming 2026/2027 school year, the number of innovative schools in Bulgaria will reach 558. This news was officially announced by the Council of Ministers' press office, demonstrating the ongoing commitment to the modernization of Bulgarian education.
Innovative schools are educational institutions that introduce new teaching methods and modern technologies into the classroom. The goal of this program is to make learning more engaging and useful for students, better preparing them for the challenges of the future.
Schools that receive "innovative" status have the freedom to modify curricula and use non-standard approaches in their work. This includes the use of digital tools, new subjects, and a closer connection between theory and practice.
Expanding this network is part of the state's long-term strategy to improve the quality of education. It is expected that the new methods will help students better develop their critical thinking and practical skills.
In the coming years, the Ministry of Education plans to continue its support for these schools. The goal is for more children across the country to have access to modern and high-quality education that meets contemporary standards.
