Bulgaria and Moldova strengthen their economic cooperation
The Vice President of Bulgaria, Iliana Iotova, held an official meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova, Mihai Popșoi. The main topic of the discussions was the deepening of bilateral relations between the two countries and support for Moldova's European integration.
During the meeting, Iliana Iotova emphasized the need to more actively attract Bulgarian investments into the Moldovan economy. She proposed the creation of a special industrial economic zone to facilitate business and stimulate trade exchange between the two countries.
The two sides also discussed the importance of historical ties, as a large Bulgarian community lives in Moldova. The Vice President highlighted that preserving the Bulgarian language and culture among our compatriots there remains a priority for the Bulgarian state.
Mihai Popșoi thanked Bulgaria for its support on Moldova's path to the European Union. He expressed readiness for joint work on projects that will bring stability and economic growth to the entire region.
