The Vazrazhdane party proposes a reduction in VAT on fuels
The political party "Vazrazhdane" has expressed serious concerns regarding the high fuel prices in Bulgaria. At a briefing in the National Assembly, representatives of the party proposed specific measures to alleviate the financial burden on Bulgarian citizens and businesses.
"Vazrazhdane's" main proposal is a reduction in the VAT rate for fuels. According to the deputies, this decision would lead to more affordable prices at gas stations and would help to curb inflationary processes in the country.
In addition to the change in tax policy, the party is insisting on a hearing for representatives of the Commission for Consumer Protection (CCP) and the Commission for the Protection of Competition (CPC). The goal is to verify whether there are unfair practices in the fuel market that are artificially keeping prices high.
Deputy Dimo Drenchev emphasized that the situation requires an immediate response from state authorities. According to him, the state must exercise stricter control to ensure that consumers are not paying more than what is market-justified.
The topic of fuel prices remains one of the most important issues for Bulgarian society. It remains to be seen whether "Vazrazhdane's" proposals will find support in parliament and what the next steps of the responsible institutions will be.
