American tanker aircraft have left Bezmer Air Base
American tanker aircraft that were stationed in Bulgaria officially left the country on Thursday. The aircraft took off from Bezmer Air Base, where they had been located to carry out joint tasks.
The news was confirmed by caretaker Minister of Defense Dimitar Stoyanov. He clarified that the presence of the aircraft was part of planned activities related to the training and logistical support of the US Air Force in the region.
Bezmer Air Base is frequently used for joint exercises and NATO missions. The presence of allied forces on Bulgarian territory is part of measures to strengthen security and collective defense within the Alliance.
After completing their mission, the aircraft departed for their next base of operations. The Ministry of Defense did not announce any further changes to the schedule of joint military operations in the country.
