Bulgaria ranks 12th in the EU for residential energy efficiency
Bulgaria ranks 12th among European Union countries in terms of home energy efficiency. According to the latest data, nearly 30 percent of the country's population lives in dwellings that have undergone energy efficiency improvement measures.
These measures include activities such as installing external insulation, replacing window frames, and upgrading heating systems. Investments in these improvements help households reduce their electricity and heating costs while simultaneously contributing to environmental protection.
Although the country is in the middle of the European ranking, experts point out that there is still much work to be done. Improvements in energy efficiency are an important part of the European policy to reduce harmful emissions and achieve a more sustainable future.
For many Bulgarian families, energy renovation of the home remains a priority, as it directly affects the monthly budget. It is expected that interest in energy efficiency programs will continue to grow in the coming years, supported by European and national funds.
