Longtime politician Yordan Tsonev retires from active politics
One of the most recognizable Bulgarian politicians, Yordan Tsonev, has officially announced that he is ending his career. The longtime deputy chairman of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) shared his decision in an interview with the Bulgarian National Television.
Tsonev revealed that he had made this important decision as early as last year. He is one of the politicians with the longest tenure in the Bulgarian parliament, having held key positions in various committees over the years and actively participating in the country's legislative process.
Throughout his long career, he has been part of several parliamentary terms and has participated in the governance of the country during different periods. His presence in political life has often been a subject of public attention due to his influence on the financial and economic decisions in the state.
In his statement to the media, Tsonev did not specify particular reasons for his withdrawal, but emphasized that it is time to put an end to his political activity. He hopes that the next generation of politicians will continue the work on issues important to Bulgaria.
With the departure of Yordan Tsonev, the political scene in Bulgaria loses one of its veterans. It is expected that in the coming weeks, the MRF will announce how the leadership structure will change following his final withdrawal.
