Government considers changes to the management of Lukoil in Bulgaria
The Bulgarian government is considering the possibility of replacing the special manager of the Lukoil Neftohim Burgas refinery. This measure is part of the state's efforts to exercise stricter control over strategic energy sites in the country. The cabinet is expected to make a final decision on the matter in the coming weeks.
Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev commented on the situation, emphasizing the importance of transparency in the management of the oil sector. According to him, the state must ensure that the refinery's operations align with national interests and European regulations. Various options for the future management of the company are currently being analyzed.
At the same time, other important topics related to national security are being discussed in the public sphere. The Prime Minister addressed the issue of defense spending, clarifying that the information regarding the purchase of missiles for F-16 fighter jets worth 1 billion BGN needs to be refined. He called for calm and objectivity when disseminating data on military acquisitions.
These events demonstrate the authorities' desire to balance energy independence with the modernization of the Bulgarian army. More details are expected to be provided in the coming days regarding both the future of Lukoil and the plans of the Ministry of Defense.
