Bulgaria modernizes its air defense with seven new 3D radars
The Council of Ministers of Bulgaria has taken an important step toward the modernization of the armed forces by proposing the ratification of a contract for the acquisition of seven new 3D radars. This initiative is part of the country's long-term strategy to renew military equipment and improve national security.
The new surveillance systems will replace outdated equipment and provide much higher precision in tracking airspace. The technology allows for faster detection and identification of objects, which is crucial for the effective protection of Bulgarian borders and sovereignty.
The investment is aimed at achieving full interoperability with NATO partners. Through the implementation of these modern radars, the Bulgarian army will be able to participate more actively in the Alliance's common security systems, ensuring better coordination in monitoring air traffic in the region.
It is expected that after the ratification of the contract by the National Assembly, the process of delivery and installation of the equipment will begin. This project is a key element of the state's efforts to ensure the security of its citizens in the context of a dynamic geopolitical situation.
