New Skoda trains to modernize Bulgarian railways
Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ) is preparing for a significant change that will improve the quality of travel in the country. Old trains will gradually be replaced by modern trainsets manufactured by the company Skoda.
The new trains are intended for BDZ-Passenger Transport. It is expected that the first of them will enter regular service by December of this year. This is an important step towards the renewal of rail transport in Bulgaria, which has long been in need of more modern and reliable vehicles.
The distribution of the new trainsets will cover both the state carrier and private operators such as Ivconi Express. The goal of this initiative is to provide greater comfort and higher speeds for passengers who use the train as their primary means of travel between cities.
With the introduction of modern equipment, BDZ hopes to attract more people to rail transport. The new trains are expected to make journeys more pleasant and reduce downtime at stations due to technical failures, which often occur with the old machines.
This change marks the end of an era for Bulgarian railways and the beginning of a new stage of modernization. Passengers in the country will be able to take advantage of the better conditions as early as the end of this year.
