Construction company denies blame for road collapse in Varna
A serious incident has caused concern among the residents of Varna after a section of road surface collapsed in one of the city's districts. The case led to significant traffic disruptions and necessitated urgent measures by local authorities to secure the area.
The construction company working near the site of the incident has issued an official statement regarding the matter. The company categorically denies any blame for the accident that occurred. According to their version of events, the problem began on September 18 at approximately 5:00 PM.
Representatives of the firm explain that the cause of the collapse was the bursting of a large 200-millimeter asbestos-cement water pipe. They claim that the leak occurred suddenly and undermined the road's foundation, which led to its destruction.
At present, an expert inspection is expected to determine the exact causes of the accident. The water and sewage utility company in Varna is also conducting an inspection of the facilities to determine whether it is a technical problem with the old infrastructure or an error during construction activities.
The situation remains under observation, and authorities are urging drivers to use alternative routes until repair work is completed. It is expected that in the coming days it will be clear who bears responsibility for restoring the road surface.
