Magistrates in Bulgaria elect a new composition of the Supreme Judicial Council
Bulgarian magistrates are preparing for a key vote that will elect a new composition of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC). The process is taking place in 66 polling stations across the country, with prosecutors and judges having the opportunity to cast their vote for the future leadership of the judiciary.
Former Deputy Minister of Justice Emil Dechev commented on the importance of this election in an interview with News.bg. According to him, the upcoming vote is a decisive moment for the development of the judicial system in Bulgaria. He urged the professional community to approach the selection of the new council members responsibly.
Dechev emphasized that the election of a new SJC is an opportunity for a change in the direction in which justice in the country is moving. He sent a message to the representatives of "Progressive Bulgaria" to make an informed choice that would lead to positive reforms and greater transparency in the institution's work.
The election of SJC members is of great importance to society, as this body makes important decisions regarding the career development of magistrates and disciplinary proceedings. The results of the vote are expected to show the prevailing sentiment among those working in the judicial system regarding future changes.
The voting process is ongoing, with final data expected to be clear after the end of the election day. Citizens and institutions are closely monitoring the event, as the stability of the judiciary is a top priority for the country.
