Alarming statistics: Most Bulgarian children have dental problems
New data reveal serious oral health problems among children and adolescents in Bulgaria. According to the latest statistics, a large portion of the young generation in the country suffers from cavities, which raises the question of the importance of prevention from an early age.
The results are particularly worrying among teenagers. Over 90% of adolescents in Bulgaria up to the age of 18 have at least one carious tooth. This means that almost every child in this age group needs dental care to maintain the health of their smile.
The problem begins at a very early age. Among children aged 5 and 6, the proportion affected by cavities exceeds 70%. Specialists explain that these indicators are the result of poor nutrition, consumption of sugary products, and insufficient oral hygiene.
Dentists advise parents to pay more attention to regular check-ups with a specialist. Early detection of cavities is key to avoiding more serious complications and pain in the future.
In addition to professional care, building good habits at home is also of great importance. Regular tooth brushing and limiting harmful foods are the easiest ways to prevent these widespread health problems among young people in Bulgaria.
