Assoc. Prof. Vladimir Daskalov is the new Governor of the National Health Insurance Fund
The National Assembly has elected a new head of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF). Following lengthy and contentious debates in parliament, Assoc. Prof. Vladimir Daskalov was chosen for the position. His candidacy was proposed by the ruling coalition "Progressive Bulgaria."
The election drew significant interest from political forces. Ultimately, Assoc. Prof. Daskalov received the support of 120 members of parliament. The vote was a key moment for the country's healthcare system, as the institution plays an important role in managing public funds for healthcare.
Assoc. Prof. Vladimir Daskalov is an established expert in his field. He is expected to focus on improving the efficiency of the Fund and ensuring better access to medical services for all Bulgarian citizens. His term begins at a time when the healthcare sector is facing a number of challenges.
