High risk of wildfires in Bulgaria in the coming days
Over the next 48 hours, there is a serious risk of wildfires in many regions of Bulgaria. Meteorological conditions and high temperatures are creating the prerequisites for the rapid spread of fire in dry grass and forested areas.
The danger is highest for the northern parts of the country, as well as for the entire eastern half of Bulgaria. Experts warn that the combination of hot weather and wind makes the situation critical for agricultural lands and forests.
Firefighting teams across the country are on high alert to respond promptly to any report of an incident. Authorities are urging citizens to be extremely careful and not to light fires outdoors.
It is important for people to avoid discarding cigarette butts or glass bottles in nature, as they can easily cause ignition. Upon noticing smoke or flames, citizens must immediately call 112.
The situation remains under observation by the institutions. The fire index is expected to remain high until meteorological conditions change to cooler and more humid weather.
