Iliana Iotova: Bulgaria must insist on peace negotiations in Ukraine
Vice President of Bulgaria Iliana Iotova visited Stara Zagora, where she discussed the current international situation. The main focus of her statement was the conflict in Ukraine and our country's role in seeking a diplomatic solution.
During the meeting, Iotova emphasized that the presidential institution has maintained a consistent position since the very beginning of the hostilities. According to her, the conflict cannot be resolved through military means, and more efforts must be made to achieve peace through negotiations.
The Vice President stated that Bulgaria must use its voice in international institutions to encourage dialogue. She believes that our country has an important role in European processes and should actively support initiatives that lead to a ceasefire.
The Director General of the Bulgarian News Agency, Kiril Valchev, also participated in the discussion. The two discussed the importance of objective information and the role of the media in covering complex geopolitical topics that directly affect security in the region.
In conclusion, the position of the presidency remains unchanged – diplomacy is the only path to long-term stability. The topic of peace negotiations is expected to continue to be central to the Bulgarian political debate in the coming months.
