Yellow code for dangerous heat in a large part of Bulgaria
Meteorologists from the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology have issued a first-degree warning – a yellow code – for dangerous heat in many regions of the country. Temperatures today are expected to reach very high levels, which can be hazardous to human health.
The warning is in effect for the regions of Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Pleven, Sofia Province, and Pazardzhik. In these regions, thermometers will show temperatures significantly above the seasonal average, which requires increased caution from citizens.
Experts advise people to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, especially during the hours around noon and early afternoon. It is important to drink enough water and wear light clothing made of natural fabrics to prevent the body from overheating.
Special attention should be paid to the elderly, young children, and people with chronic illnesses, as they are the most vulnerable during extreme heat. It is recommended to limit strenuous physical activity outdoors during the hottest part of the day.
The hot weather is expected to persist over the coming hours. Citizens should regularly monitor the latest weather forecasts and follow the recommendations of health authorities to safely navigate through this period of high temperatures.
